The challenge
In 2022 four agencies, Republic, Redland, Reason and Pixels merged and formed a marketing, comms and tech driven agency called Kaimana. After a challenging year and a half, Kaimana's tech business was sold and a resurrection plan for the future was made: Kaimana would be rebranded and in the future its focus would be solely on commercial comms, targeting only consumer brands.

Along with a new name, the agency would need a distinguishable story and a new visual identity. Since times were tough, the turnaround needed to happen fast. The new brand would have to be launched in only six weeks.
The solution
Only two years earlier one of the four company's, Republic, had been thriving in the field of commercial comms and it was still widely recognized and remembered among the target audience; the name still had prestige. So instead of coming up with a whole new name for the new brand, having Republic make a return would have a bigger and faster impact than an altogether new brand.

The new Republic brand wanted to own curiosity, which was considered the differentiating factor in both the agency's brand image and its whole philosophy. Without curiosity, nothing new would emerge – neither the small everyday insights nor the life-altering innovations. We’d do things as they’ve always been done.
Curiosity and the idea of constant exploring, testing, questioning and finding heavily influenced the logo and the visual identity.
